Android Tablets: Tablet PC Touchscreens, Capacitative Or Resistive?

by Kelle Edwards

Android tablets can be the newest method to catch up with one another with your friends, browse the internet and look at out audio tracks and movies. They are ordinarily merely a solid, dark slate plus they drop the bulk and huge keyboard ordinarily linked to bigger mobile computer PCs.
If there is no keyboard though, then how can tablets work? How is it possible to type anything?
Every tablet has what is recognized like a touchscreen. that is recognized like a display that reacts for the touch, a comparable as your touch pad in your laptop. So as opposed to producing utilization of the mouse button to get icons on display you can merely touch them with one another with your finger as well as a plastic material stylus (like a pen without any ink). But there's more, when you also can 'sweep' your finger throughout the display to alter page, hold out film games and proceed icons.
There are completely different types of touchscreen however, so let's glance at what they are as well as the distinctions amid them:
Resistive: These touchscreens really are a sandwich of layers which could be relatively slightly apart. when you touch the display and place stress you will deliver about the layers to touch in the specific place after which your tablet will realize that you simply have touched right here and react accordingly. maybe opening an app or pausing a game.
Their strengths are which they are relatively challenging as they are ordinarily produced from the kind of plastic material glass. because they are relatively basic engineering they are also relatively cheap, so a resistive touchscreen will preserve fees down.
The drawbacks are that some grownup males and girls think which they aren't as well sensitive, since the tablet is required to wait around numerous instants for the finger or stylus to create the interconnection amid layers. in addition they totally need a stylus or lengthy fingernail as just touching with one another with your fingertip occasionally doesn't register.
Capacitative: This touchscreen is recognized like a flat, difficult pane of wineglass coated with an electrical conductor. The individual whole body may be also an electrical conductor, consequently when you touch the wineglass it produces an electrical interconnection that is your 'selection' just like clicking a mouse.
The strengths with this type of display are which they in actuality glance brighter and sharper than resistive display as they are wineglass not plastic material and which they register touch relatively quickly and very easily so there's no qualification for just about any stylus.
The drawbacks are which they are relatively high-priced as they are intricate and, getting glass, are prone to breaking once the tablet is dropped or squashed.
So which to choose? Honestly neither is much better compared to other, but you can possibly desire to think about if you're pleased to create utilization of the stylus as opposed to your finger. Capacitative screens can ordinarily glance brighter, so if you're into films then they could possibly be the way in which forward. They're also good for heavy gamers as they are able to ordinarily react a lot quicker for the touch. even so if you're just searching for an Android tablet for standard use (a little bit of electronic electronic mail writing, audio tracks and internet browsing) then you definitely can spend less money and possess a comparable performance using a resistive screen.
So if you're ready to purchase your tablet in which have for you look? the relatively very best source is totally on the net in which fees are lowest. So create an account with an on the net store these times and sign up for the enjoyment tablet revolution!

What's the best Android tablet for 2011?

click here MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (Wi-Fi)

by Blogindream

2011 has been called the "Year of the Tablet" for some time now, but the only truly worthwhile tablet device that we have to speak of is the iPad and Android Tablet. If you're looking for a tablet and don't fancy an iPad, then Android Tablet is the way to go. We have compiled a list of the best Android Tablets in 2011. Most of these won't be available for a few months, but we wanted to ignite your techno lust prematurely so you know where to throw your hard earned dollars. Read on below and let us know which one you like best.
Motorola Xoom
Android Tablet
This 10.1-inch Android 3.0, or Honeycomb, tablet sports an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, uses a laptop-like 1280 x 800 resolution, and has two cameras: a 2-megapixel sensor in the front for video chat over Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G and a 5-megapixel rear camera for stills and 720p video recording. It will initially work on Verizon's 3G network but will be upgradeable to 4G / LTE soon after launch. The Xoom is expected to be available?in the first quarter, although no pricing has been announced. Most analysts and tech bloggers are saying this is the one to watch, and we are inclined to agree with them. Finally a manufacturer has realized that consumers want a quality, performance tablet with a high resolution screen, and a relatively thin bezel. We will keep you posted and offer you a hands-on as soon as we can.
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Android Tablet
This 7 inch Touch Screen Tablet is being seen as the first major competitor of the Apple iPad. Based on the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy Tab sports a 7 inch screen and can rightly be said to be a mini tablet pc. The glossy display is powered by the Super AMOLED technology which means you get a bright, free of glares screen. We loved the screen every bit as we did like its lean appearance. At only 0.8 pounds, it puts the 1.5 pound iPad to shame. The stunning black tablet comes with a 1.3 MP camera at the front and a rear 3 MP camera. The tablet runs on Android 2.2 OS which is very good though it can be flakey sometimes.
ASUS Eee Pad Slider
Android Tablet
The smartbook-like 10.1-inch Slider is similar to the Transformer, but features an always-attached, slide-out keyboard and weighs in at 2.2 pounds. It features Android 3.0, a Tegra 2 processor and two cameras. It will sell for?$499 to $799 and be available in May. We like the form factor here, and while it feels a bit like there's wasted space on the keyboard base because of the screen tilt, this is one is compact and light. For those wanting something neater and better looking than a netbook, this is a good one to keep an eye on. People still love having the convenience of a full QWERTY. We can see a clear use for the Asus Eee Pad Slider for many people out there. Many tablets are striving to be just tablets, and it's good to see a few unique designs being proposed.
Viewsonic Viewpad 7
Android Tablet
The Viewsonic Viewpad 7 is exactly the same, albeit slightly more expensive than the Linx Commtiva N700 - and confusingly, Viewsonic is marketing it as a smartphone. It's a terrible smartphone but it's a fairly competent 7-inch Android tablet: its 600MHz processor isn't really fast enough for Flash though, not to mention recent Android releases.
7 inch Android WiFi Tablet
Android Tablet
7 inch Touchscreen Google Android WiFi Tablet MID, integrated advanced hardware components, Installed Google android 1.7.4 version OS. High efficiency and good performance, just like a carry-on computer. You can use it get on-line everytime and everywhere and let you enjoy wonderful internet life. It's now available on TOMTOP at $126.99.
So these are the 5 best Android Tablets of 2011. Whether or not they can knock the iPad off the perch remains to be seen. But their solid looks and functionalities can just make them worth rooting for. And if you are looking for something other than the iPad, these can be great options for you. Send in your feedbacks and let us know what you think of our compilation.

Top Ten Gadget Trends 2011

by Lisa Zhou

As the end of the year approaches, it's time to take a look at what's in store for the future of technology.

The following are predictions and trends for what 2011 has in store for the electronics/gadgets buyer:

Prediction #1: Blu-ray will slowly but steadily get closer to becoming mainstream in the home theater market. More and more catalogue titles are being released every day, and price reductions have enabled unit shipments to increase rapidly. 2011 will finally be the year when Blu-ray will take the place of DVDs in the mainstream market.

Prediction #2: HD gadgets will grow in popularity. These days you can buy a 720p television for under $500. Camcorders with 1080p capability are becoming the new standard for home video. Trends indicate that most consumer video gadgets will soon be high-def.
Prediction #3: The advent of 3D television will not gain as much traction as their developers would like; since manufacturers are pushing for it more than consumers. With very little 3D content currently available, and given that only a handful of 3D TV's are on the market, it's better to wait and decide whether 3D will go down in history as a gimmick, or rise up as the wave of the future.

Prediction #4: Projectors will continue to grow in popularity. Technology for projectors has made it preferable to choose a home theater projector over a television, when it comes to filling up space. Despite the economic downturn, projectors have been selling hotter than ever. The reason? Probably because no one wants to spend 10 dollars on a movie ticket anymore!

Projectors are also getting smaller. Something that can fit in your front pocket can now display your business presentation on the wall.

Prediction #5: Google Android, the internet search giant's foray into the mobile device operating systems market, has been steadily gaining momentum, and will continue to rise in popularity.

Google's Nexus One smartphone is one of the most iconic consumer electronics launches of the year, as its integration with Google software services freed internet shoppers from wireless carriers' service contract stranglehold. Many other devices that use Google's Android OS are being released, helping Google get closer to the top of the mobile OS market.

Prediction #6: Tablet Computers will gain in popularity- many large manufacturers are already coming out with their own take on Apple's iPad, which has already sold 60 million units.

There is already a market for dedicated eReaders, and people are realizing that a tablet PC is more practical for browsing digital literature than dedicated devices. Apple's iPad has already taken a chunk out of this market, with competitors seeking to emulate Apple's success to follow.

Prediction #7: Solid State Drives will increase in prominence. This technological trend is accompanied by an annual 50% decline in raw flash material costs, while capacities continue to double at the same rate. As a result, flash-based solid-state drives are becoming increasingly popular in markets such as notebook PCs and sub-notebooks for enterprises, Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPC), and Tablet PCs for the healthcare and consumer electronics sectors. Major PC companies have now started to offer such technology.

Prediction #8: Consumers will be going after energy-efficient gadgets. As people become more concerned about the environment, and technology for such products increases, the proliferation of energy-efficient and green products will increase tenfold. Solar technology has been growing by leaps and bounds lately, with such products as solar-powered battery chargers, and solar cell phone batteries. Solar panels can even be seen on bags, or the windows of buildings!

There have also been more eco-friendly items turn up like wooden casings for iPods and cell phones. Consumers are demanding these items and it's a sure bet that we'll see more like them in the coming year.

Prediction #9: Apps! In 2011, you won't be able to turn the corner without bumping into a device that supports apps. More and more smartphones, eReaders, televisions, Blu-ray players, and other consumer products are utilizing apps. What started out as an iPhone gimmick will soon change the way we perform most electronic tasks.
Prediction #10: Streaming multimedia and interconnected devices will be ever-present throughout 2011, from wireless-enabled home theater components to DVD players that support mobile TV broadcasts. As such, dozens more potential distribution channels just opened up to businesses, as did the opportunity to extend the life and reach of any viral video marketing piece.

Relative to the Android system upgrades to bring trouble, for hardware makers, more serious problem is, based on the Android platform fortress market is emerging.

A few years ago, LianFa research issued a cheap and easy to use system single chip (SOC), will complex mobile phone system integration into a simple chip platform, let small and medium-sized mobile phone manufacturer based on this rapid launch multi-function product, the insurance market.

Android Tablets: What Are The Benefits Of Android OS?

click here to see details ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101-B1 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Tablet Only)

by Rachel Zhang

Android tablets are one of the coolest ways to surf the net and watch videos in existence! They are super portable, light and have a huge touch screen display which makes viewing a pleasure. Unlike laptops and even netbooks, they save a lot of weight and space by only including the components needed for media consumption (surfing, listening and watching).
They run Google's Android OS, which although a relatively new operating system has already overtaken Apple's iOS as the most popular OS for portable devices! It looks quite similar to Windows in some ways, most notably being the 'home page' of your tablet which is like a 'desktop' full of shortcuts to your favourite apps.
Some of the key benefits of Android are:
• It's open source. This means that it is free and that anyone can get the code from Google and manipulate it to make it suitable for their device. Why is this good? You're not paying for an expensive OS, but still get a top-notch OS for your tablet.
• The Google connection. Android has apps for most of the major Google services that we've come to love and rely upon, including: Gmail, Youtube, Google Maps, Google Voice (like Skype) as well as translate, shopper and finance.
• Choice of hardware. Don't fancy an iPad, but want an Apple tablet? I'm sorry you can't. However Android is free for any manufacturer to use and so tablet fans have a huge choice of different tablets, from expensive 'name brands' to great value Chinese versions.
• Huge leap forward in functionality. Consider an old-fashioned portable DVD player, or MP3 player where you can only do one thing, either watch DVDs or listen to music. An Android OS device is a powerful, portable PC. They allow you to do hundreds of things, from web-browsing to reading eBooks to playing games; and all at the same time if you want to multi-task!
If you're worried about whether you can use an Android tablet then think about this question? Can you use a mac or pc? If the answer is yes then you're sure to be delighted with Android OS as it is so similar in many ways to Apple OS and Windows.
You have your shortcuts on your home screen, but also folders full of your applications, pdfs and media files as well. So to do something just select the right folder like on your computer!
It is different in some ways too, and not in a negative sense! Android is great at multi-tasking. You can have many apps open and running at the same time which is brilliant when you're flipping from the page you're browsing to your music library to change tracks.
It also benefits from a brilliant app source, 'Android Marketplace,' which is filled with great apps for all kinds of purposes, from Facebook to horoscopes. They are especially great because most of them are free, and you don't often get much for free in life!
So in summary, when you buy an Android tablet you're getting a top quality operating system for free, hundreds of thousands of cool apps for free and a huge choice of different tablets for any budget. It's also easy for anyone to use and will sync seamlessly with your Google account.
Where are the cheapest tablets though? You need to go online and check out the reputable online stores selling them, then you're assured of the best value as opposed to the big shops.

Android Tablets: 7 Reasons Why You Need An Android Tablet

by Rachel Zhang

Android tablets are a new and exciting way to catch your favourite music, videos and emails, but without irritating wires.
Android OS is a really big reason for their rise in popularity. It is an operating system (like Windows) designed by Google, but focusing on ease-of-use, watching and listening to media and surfing the internet.

Unlike a traditional laptop pc, a tablet pc has some advantages. Here are 7 reasons why you need a tablet in your life:

1. Portable - Tablets are very portable thanks to their small size and light weight. They are typically no bigger in area than a piece of A4 paper and weigh roughly half a kilo because they're not weighed down by a large battery, fans and keyboard. This means that you won't even notice when they're in your backpack or handbag!

2. Cheap - A new laptop pc could cost even more than 1000 dollars depending on specification! You won't have this problem with Android tablets though, they are much cheaper since they aren't equipped with software and hardware that you don't need, such as DVD drive and keyboard.

3. Customisable - It's easy to customize your tablet pc with apps and new backgrounds. Android OS allows you to put links to your favourite or most-used apps on your homepage and change its background. This means that your tablet is unique to you and only you! You can also upgrade to newer versions of Android when they arrive.

4. Ideal For Videos - You can watch videos on many different devices, but MP4 players and smartphones all have quite small screens which could cause eye-strain. Tablets are great because they usually have a nice, large screen of between 7 to 10 inches.

5. Free Internet - If you are in a WiFi hotspot (anywhere with a wireless internet connection) then your tablet will be great because they have a wireless internet connection that can connect anywhere. So if you're on the train, in the airport or even at home, you won't be bothered by annoying wires.

6. Free Apps - Apps, or applications, are one of Android OS' main strengths! These are programs that allow you to do anything - from games like 'Angry Birds,' to Facebook and even Google's own apps like 'Gmail' and 'Youtube.' Install the right app and you'll be able to do anything anywhere! Best of all? Most of them are free! Go to 'Android Marketplace,' choose the app you like, click install and you're done!

7. Cool - The shiny, slate-like Android tablet is always likely to get people talking! They look so futuristic and are much more streamlined than big laptops that they truly are the best way to get active online and with media when you're out!

As mentioned tablet pcs tend to be cheap, but how cheap? If you avoid the stores in town and stick to the internet you can find your best Android tablet for around just 200 dollars, so log on and search for Android tablets in a search engine and you should be able to find some great bargains!

Motorola Android Tablet PC Review

by Legootech

Motorola's Android tablet has set a new standard for tablet computing. Motorola's digital tablet sports a 10-inch screen and runs Google's Android operating system. In partnership with Verizon, customers of Verizon's FiOS digital pay-television service can manage their home television entertainment with the tablet. The Motorola tablet offers a number of significant hardware and software features unavailable in any similar device.
The Motorola tablet provides a portable, in-home TV solution to FiOS customers. It enables customers to watch streaming content throughout the house, to watch FiOS videos on the go, and to stream content from house DVR to tablet over the home Wi-Fi network. The Motorola Tablet PC is even designed to function as a giant remote control and program guide for a flat-screen television.
The Android operating system which drives the Motorola tablet pc ensures full compatibility for Adobe Flash. Flash underpins 90% of web video. Some manufacturers back an alternative standard, HTML 5, but customers have clamored for Flash support on mobile devices. Since the 2.2 Android Froyo release, Flash has been supported on all compatible mobile hardware.
The Motorola Tablet PC also provides two cameras. One lens operates from the rear of the device and offers both video and still capture. The second camera faces forward, above the tablet display. Such a configuration easily enables video conferencing from the tablet. Video conferencing is seen as a critical next generation service within the mobile device market.
A Verizon Mobile Hotspot feature allows the Motorola tablet to share its wireless data connection. The 3G Mobile Hotspot provides Wi-Fi access for up to four additional Wi-Fi-enabled devices when you are within the Verizon Wireless Broadband Services Rate and Coverage Area.
The tablet pc market is the latest battleground in a mobile device war which has set device makers, Microsoft, Google, and Research in Motion against Apple. IMS Research forecasts 102 million tablets will ship worldwide in 2015, with one-third 3G enabled. Roughly 40% will be deployed by ISPs.
Motorola's 10-inch tablet display is the largest in its class. Display size differentiates a tablet from a smartphone. Tablets can serve as a full-sized paper replacement. They preserve formatting and also display images, diagrams, charts, and videos. Tablets have even been touted as saviors of the print magazine industry.
Tight integration with TV is a significant competitive advantage for Motorola against other tablets from rival Android developers, and against Apple's iPad. Android tablet devices have been in the works from a myriad of manufacturers including Samsung, LG, and HTC. Even Best Buy has thrown their hat into the tablet ring.
Motorola's Android Tablet is a compelling proposition. It addresses some perceived weaknesses of the market-changing Apple iPad, which opened the floodgates to a deluge of similar tablet devices. Motorola has delivered a feature-rich tablet, which is simultaneously both thinner and lighter than the iPad. The integration with Verizon's FiOS television service ensures that the Motorola Android tablet will deliver on the company promise to be at the center of a convergence between mobility and the home

Crazy price for Google Android tablet PC

by Sandy

I think that today there is a variety of quite cheap tablet PCs to buy one. On ebay, amazon, alibaba and so many other online stores, especially the Pickegg, which offers 7" Google Android 2.2 MID tablet PC as an amazing low price-$79.11 for free shipping. This model of tablet PC was sold at the price of $98.89 only a few days ago. However, PickEgg may effected by the worsening price wars or in order to make website promotion, which cause sales price to drop over and over. Anyway, it is good news to our customers, for there are so many models of Google Android tablet PC sold at the prices lower than $150 on PickEgg.
Tablet PC is one that I'm drooling over. However, I may have the patience to wait for better screen resolution, battery life and price, as well as maybe a few more of the new product category kinks to get worked out, and I didn't buy one till a week ago. But now, it's really hard to not go on and just buy one, I think there will be no better price than this one from Pickegg!
For a no name brand Android device, this isn't bad at all!! The Rocketchip processor is speedy, the memory is a little on the slow side, especially when running multiple apps in the background, but all in all, it's a great product for doing mostly multimedia stuff. I connected to my wifi network in less than a minute, and I'm already downloading multiple apps from the Android Marketplace!
There are really some features need to be acknowledged for such a low priced tablet PC.
A) Touch and Feel - The wonderful capacitive screens feel like glass. This one feels like plastic, and like plastic it has more drag on your fingertips. The resistive screens seem to have several layers sandwiched together so they are not that flat hard surface, but slightly mushy.
B) Responsiveness - Very good for a resistive screen, in fact, this is the most impressive resistive screen I have ever used. I used to have an old LG Incite phone a few years back, it had a resistive screen and it was an absolute horrible experience to use. I was very pessimistic about this device because of the screen but once I started using it worked just fine.
C) Resolution and Color. Not bad. The color has a slight bluish tint, almost like an uncelebrated Dell laptop screen. You photos will seem to be lacking some of the poppy reds, yellows, and oranges. So if you are a photographer like i am, forget using this as a device to showcase your images, stick with your Ipad,Iphone,Droid.
Anyway, shopping online, especially, shopping from Chinese online stores, you can often get surprises.

Amazon company is moving toward Android tablet PC

by Sandy
The tablets are obviously important gadgets today. They are proving to be an essential tool for browsing and mobile entertainment. Especially, China factory launched many kinds of tablet PC, and also there are so many big online stores which are specialty in selling tablet PC. PickEgg is one of them of offering all kinds of Google Android tablet PCs and which is the only company offered customers the best price guarantee. Even there's a wealth of circumstantial evidence that points toward Amazon readying a Android tablet.
Looking at moves Amazon has made over the last few months, the company has laid all the foundations for an ecosystem for a tablet device--all it needs now is the hardware.
Is Amazon preparing to launch an Android tablet? It's obvious from Amazon's most recent moves that the company is moving toward Android, and everything else the company has done lately matches perfectly with a coming launch of a tablet device. It has the music player, the content storage system, the e-reader software, the app store, and a plan for aggressive pricing. The tablet's place is ready; now all Amazon needs is an actual product.
When the iPad first debuted last April, there was chatter that it would be a Kindle killer. But quite the opposite proved to be true. In fact, according to one study, 40 percent of iPad owners also have a Kindle. This has proven to Amazon that if it does produce its own tablet, it won't necessarily mean the end--or the transformation--of the Kindle line.
Amazon Prime is another piece of the puzzle. Members pay $79 a year to get free unlimited two-day shipping, and Amazon recently added streaming video to this service through Amazon Instant Video. The selection of content might be limited for now, but it points to another fact: Amazon has a wealth of content available on its site, a key part of a tablet ecosystem and something other players in the tablet space lack. Similar to Kindle software that allows users to buy a book with just one click within the app, Amazon's tablet could allow users to do this with a wider selection of books, movies, and music.
Although the company has been tight-lipped about the numbers, DigiTimes estimates B&N have shipped three million of the $250 Android-powered devices since it launched in November. It's priced at a lower point than the iPad because, as Rojas pointed out, Barnes & Noble counts on Nook owners to buy content directly from Barnes & Noble. Barnes & Noble has tried its hand at an LCD tablet with the Nook Color, and by most measures it's been successful so far. Another prong of the argument is that Amazon recently opened its own Android Appstore last month. It has nearly 30 different categories of apps that can be tested out on the PC.
Amazon is in the position to take this even further with the giant ecosystem it appears to be building. Amazon appears to be waiting in the wings to unveil a game-changer: a cheap tablet rich with content, made attractive by the convenience of native apps and services that can compete with the iPad.

Review of the Motorola Xoom Android Tablet PC

by Ted Summs

The Motorola Xoom tablet pc was was released 2011 and is a high-end Android Honeycomb tablet with an impressive specification for a slate computer.
Specification
Processor - Nvidia Tegra2 (Dual Cortex A9) - A processor is a vital component of a PC because it's the central processing unit of the tablet. Less powerful processors cope with standard slate PC apps but can freeze or slow the applications if a user has more than a few of applications operating at the same time. The poorer processors may perform jerkily with high-definition videos. The Nvidia Tegra2 is a strong enough processor so performs well on the Motorola Xoom.
Processor Speed - 1 GHz - The processor's speed is measured in GHz, the highest speeds are indicative of how able the processor could be at completing the requirements.
Operating System - Android 3.0 - An operating system is the software which takes your tablet unit and turns it into a usable PC that you can operate without substantial amounts of technical knowledge. In the slate PC world the best recalled OS are iOS, Windows and Android. Android 3.0 on the Motorola Xoom is the latest operating system update from Google and is tablet-optimised.
Screen Size - 10.1 inch - Slate PC devices tend to be sized between 7- and 10-inches (measured diagonally). 10-inch slate devices feature a larger screen therefore will be easier to utilise for activities such as web browsing, playing games or watching video. The 7-inch tablet devices are a smaller format so you have a more mobile device that is possible to fit in to a jacket pocket, however the trade off can be that text and video is somewhat more difficult to view on your slate display. 10-inch tablet devices are naturally weightier that 7-inch tablet PCs.
Screen Resolution - 1280 x 800 pixels - High screen resolutions provide a tablet PC user more pixels on the tablet display and a clear picture.
Screen Type - capacitive multi-touch - On a tablet PC the options are a capacitive or resistive display type. The great thing about a capacitive screen type is that it is they are highly responsive and are easier to operate versus a resistive slate display. Capacitive slate PC displays usually are multitouch allowing you to pinch-to-zoom to enlarge what's on the screen. Resistive displays are usually found on low spec tablets, they are fiddly to use and generally thought to be less modern.
Storage Memory - 32 GB - Longterm memory storage will keep larger amounts of data files such as documents, music and videos - memory can also store these files if your slate is powered down. On most devices you will possess an amount of internal memory built-in and current tablet PCs on the market will be giving you somewhere around 16GB and 64GB. The higher the GBs of memory a user gets the more you can store however, there will be a price to this. If you've a laptop then you will be able to transfer files and documents between computers
Connectivity - 3G / 4G capable - Connectivity refers to the options a slate PC has for getting online to the web. The most basic option is wireless only, this might well suit most users but restricts the alternatives to go on the internet to only if you're within the range of a Wireless signal. When you need to attach to a cellular or mobile data network then you'll need to get a 3G tablet PC. Modern slates can give an option to connect to the quicker 4G network as it grows in the coming years.
Cameras - 5MP Rear / 2MP WebCam - The options on cameras are a forward-facing WebCam for video conferencing and/or a back-facing camera for capturing stills and video. The higher the resolution (measured in megapixels) of the WebCam, the higher the quality of a picture.
Battery Life - 10 hours - A lot of notebook PCs will usually run out of power within 2-3 hours so longer battery life on a tablet is important if you are on a a substantial trip. Short battery power results in a deficiency in mobility of the tablet and ultimately these devices are made to work as mobile gadgets. 10 hours on the Motorola Xoom is particularly long for a battery to last for.
The Motorola Xoom performs very strongly and is a premium tablet PC. If you're considering buying a tablet PC, it's important to ensure you review it compared to other tablet PCs too.
